My name is Angelique Bjork! I was born in Ottawa and moved to the Yukon when I was 10 – along with my two horses Sonny and Poco.  I’ve been riding and loving horses for more than 30 years.

I got my first horse when I was four years old and he (Sonny) was 18!  We grew up together and he was my best friend.  Raising horses from young and developing them into elite athletes has always been my passion.  During my teen years I got very involved with barrel racing and gymkhana events so my Dad bought me a barrel horse named Skye who I had coveted since I first saw her as a 3 year old.  She had a lot of baggage but with time and patience she developed into an amazing horse.  This is when I decided that working with horses would be the direction I would take with my life!

Sunny Sky is a combination of Sonny and Skye as they inspired me to build this facility and turn it into a place where I could teach others, especially kids, the same love for horses that I have.  I learned so much from both of these horses that it only seemed right to name my business in their honor.

Over the years I have worked with Rescue Horses, caring for them, helping them to get their health back, and finding them a new purpose.  I have worked successful with every kind of horse – be it breaking a colt, soothing the angry or troubled soul, or finishing an elite athlete – I have done it all.

During the last 10 years, I have added a lessons program to my portfolio.  Teaching people how to build a lasting and safe relationship with their horses has become a particular passion of mine.
